Hi family!!!
Well i didn’t get my package... but i hope i will soon... who knows?! Haha i love getting all the letters! it is super fun, of course it has only happened once, but i love it. but if it is a nuisance for you guys then you don’t have too. everyone always says the letters will stop coming after a while. --lack of faith.
haha! i love it! my mom’s a lunch lady!! i think that is so fun, and i think you would be so good at that kind of stuff, you are always going out of your way to help people. that is a talent of yours!! I am having fun here! and it my fault you guys missed last week, i didnt tell you. well i know now.
Hm well i have a miracle story to tell you all!! so remember claudineia. well she told us her story about what happened to her. So she wasn’t happy with her life. she never felt like she was in the place where she needed to be, so she started looking online at different church sites. and she came across one that told her to pray. so she wrote on the site to have people pray for her to find the right church and she decided to pray that night too. so funny enough the very next day, elder goldhardt (a different elder in the area and i were on a trade) and we talked to her. but the amazing thing is she said she never stops for people on the road and especially not for church people. but this time she did. sooo the next Sunday elder christensen and i were fasting t find someone that needed us and the bishop called and said she had called the church asking where the building was, and she was baptized 2 weeks later. pretty amazing huh?? the Lord really is preparing people. But other than that, we actually have a teaching group!!! our hard work is paying off! we have 5 investigators now and it is great! there is this one lady and she is super great. the problem is she is super super smart, she was a professor at a university teaching psychology. sooo the problem with her is faith. she isnt sure if she believes in God or anything, but she wants to know so bad. so that is super good. the first part is having the desire.
hmmm.... what else happened that’s cool... we had açaí!! and... we have been teaching a lot of less active members trying to help them get back into church.
I have been thinking about something lately, so we went to talk to a less active member and she didn’t want anything to do with us. we found out later that she was going to another church and she doesn’t want anything to do with the church. so my comp said that he just couldn’t believe that someone could go to another church after being in this one. and it made me think of Lehi´s dream. how there were some who had partaken the fruit and then fell away because of the mocking of the people in the grand and spacious building. and it makes me sad. maybe that’s why paul says that he will not be ashamed of the gospel of christ. But we know that even mormon was worried about what people would say. in ether 12 it talks about our weaknesses. and mormon is afraid that people will make fun of the things he writes. and i love Gods answer (i cant say it word for word but something like this) fools mock but they shall mourn... i show unto men their weaknesses that they may be humble. and when we turn to christ our weaknesses will be made strong. we have nothing to be scared of. we have nothing to prove to the other people. My comp and i were actually talking about this, because sometimes as missionaries we try to win the people over through logic, but we do not need to. We know this is the true church. we know joseph smith was a prophet. we know christ is our savior. so my challenge to you guys this week is to now be ashamed of the gospel of christ. share a simple testimony with someone this week!!
Well family things are super great! i love being a missionary!! i miss you guys! and happy late valentines day!!! the church is true!!!
