Hello everyone!!
Another p-day, can you believe it?!?! time is going so so fast. Well this week was good. The lady that got baptized last week got the gift of the holy ghost this Sunday and it was so cool. Ill tell you about her. So we met her in a salon, and we weren't sure what to think at first, but we just thought hey we will try it. so we went there and she accepted everything, no problem. she went to church did everything, the only problem was as soon as she started going to church and everything everyone in her family, friends, everyone turned on her. everyone she knew was telling her the church was wrong, telling her just weird stuff about the church. but she would just tell them, well i received my answer and i know it is true. even her parents got in arguments with her. her dad is actually a pastor for an evangelical church. and so when she got the gift of the holy ghost, it was actually testimony Sunday and she asked us if she could bear her testimony... DUH!!! and it was an amazing testimony, i have never hear such a strong testimony come from someone with only 10 minutes in the church. it was awesome!! She talked about eternal families, the celestial kingdom, and how she had no doubt about the church because of all the persecution. she said that Christ was persecuted and killed, of course His church will be persecuted. and really it just shows how true this church really is. this church is attacked and lied about and just not treated very well, but still it is growing so fast. i know this church is true because you can see so easily how hard Satan is trying to destroy it! i love it!
So you remember that drunk guy that we talked to last week?? well we taught him about the word of wisdom and he hasn't drank in like a week!! cool huh??? the only sad thing is he didn't go to church.... darn it. also we met an awesome family, they have 2 kids and they are super nice. they have a date set for not this Sunday but the next. Oh but this week was tough too, we taught a lot of people and stuff, but all the dates fell, it was really sad. Its just so sad to see people have an awesome opportunity and they just don't understand the importance of all this stuff. we have such a gift. and it is so so sad to see people not want it. Mom, i loved that letter you wrote about Bro Morrison's thing he did for the laurels, i am going to do all that (hopefully) by the end of my mission so i will be starting today!! i am starting the old testament, wish me luck!!! it'll be fun!!
It sounds like maren is having an awesome year!! 44 goals already?!??! yikes look out!!! hmm well the weather here.... hot!! this week was pretty darn hot. but also it rained A LOT! its like that week we had in hawaii... except not as much rain... ok not really. but its cool. (like awesome, not cold) but really i am learning super alot!! here is a lesson i learned in my study this morning. it comes from mosiah 2:36-37. i dont know the wording though, but it says basically if we know the commandments and we know what we are supposed to do, and we just decide not to--that is direct rebellion against God. You are choosing, and telling God that you do not want to follow Him anymore. Sad. but on the other hand, everytime we do follow the commandments we are telling Him that we do, and we want to keep learning more. we should be like Ammon in alma 18:10 and be so diligent and so obedient that God says this about us "Surely there has not been any servant that has been so faithful as this man (or woman);for even he doth remember all my commandments and DOETH THEM" that is how i want God to talk about me. I want Him to just walk around in heaven and be so excited to tell everyone about me. "wow spencer was so good today, look what he did" how cool would that be, to return to God and have Him say that about us!!!! that is how we need to work, that is how we need to follow. and for sure we will be so blessed for that!! well... i am nopt sure what else happened that was cool... im sure there was something... its just hard to remember on the spot! but i love you guys!! the church is true!!
